About the Jewish Historical & Genealogical Society of WA
The Jewish Historical & Genealogical Society of WA was founded to research, and bring awareness to, the contributions of Jewish people in Western Australia. The Society also assists its membership and the community in genealogical research.
The Society
The Jewish Historical & Genealogical Society of WA Inc is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission, and a Deductible Gift Recipient.
JHGSWA welcomes new members, volunteers, and donors.
We are a constituent member of the Jewish Community Council of WA, and institutional members of Family History WA, and the Royal Western Australian Historical Society.
We meet monthly (excluding September and December). Our meetings are open to members as well as non-members.
Members also have access to the library, as well as assistance with genealogical and historical research.

Do I need to be a member to attend meetings?
We welcome non-members to attend our meetings. Please RSVP for catering and security purposes.
How can I help?
We are a volunteer-run organisation and appreciate support from the community. Please contact us to discuss how you can share your expertise, assist in the administration of the organisation, or make a donation.
Will you help me with my family tree?
We are happy to assist members and others to start their family history research. Workshops are offered to assist people to learn how to use online, and other resources. Members also have access to our library.
Do I need to be Jewish to attend meetings?
We welcome people of all backgrounds who are interested In Jewish history in Western Australia, and Jewish genealogy.
